WhatsApp is now taking a bold step by banning users temporarily to curb the use of these modded apps. In a FAQ article published by the company, WhatsApp explains why it took such a bold step and also has put together a step-by-step guide to help users migrate back to the official app.
If you received an in-app message stating your account is “Temporarily banned” this means that you’re likely using an unsupported version of WhatsApp instead of the official WhatsApp app. If this is the case, you must download the official app to continue using WhatsApp.
WhatsApp hasn’t disclosed if users will get their accounts back once they have migrated to the official app or not. If you’re using any of the modded apps, then we highly recommend you to check out the FAQ article and migrate to the official app. While modded apps do look lucrative it’s not a good idea to download them as they do void WhatsApp’s Terms of Service and the company has every right to ban users permanently if they use the modded versions of WhatsApp
